The Party’s Just Begun: Inside The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen

Disney Channel nostalgia is officially reaching a fever pitch. Years after the original pop-culture phenomenon captured the hearts of millions, the leopard print is back out of the closet. The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen is officially heading to screens, bringing a fresh passing-of-the-torch storyline that bridges the beloved original trilogy with an entirely new era of talent.

A Historic Reunion Meets a New Generation

The upcoming fourth installment brings back foundational fan favorites while introducing a brand-new crop of aspiring stars. Raven-Symoné is officially returning to the franchise as Galleria Garibaldi—marking a triumphant return after her absence in the third film, The Cheetah Girls: One World. Alongside her, Adrienne Bailon returns as Chanel Simmons and Sabrina Bryan reprises her role as Dorinda Thomas.

While the original icons are stepping back into their legacy roles (with Raven-Symoné also serving as an executive producer), the heart of Next Gen focuses on a fresh group of young characters finding their footing. The new ensemble features Leah Sava Jeffries as Faith (Galleria’s daughter), Carmen Sanchez as Dior (Chanel’s younger sister), alongside Kaileen Chang as Ruby, Sophie Lennon as Brooklyn, and global open-call find Kamogelo Ramashala as Kendi.

What to Expect from the Plot

The story follows this dynamic new generation of teens as they test their friendships, discover their individual voices, and channel the true “Cheetah spirit” while working together to save a wildlife preserve and ultimately take the stage.

For longtime fans, seeing the original members return—along with franchise staples like Lynn Whitfield as Dorothea Garibaldi—offers a heavy dose of comforting early-2000s energy. At the same time, the modern narrative structure ensures the franchise speaks directly to today’s families.

Production on the music-driven film wrapped following shoots in locations like South Africa, setting the stage for its highly anticipated premiere on Disney Channel and Disney+. If the early buzz is any indication, the world is more than ready to shout canta, baila, grita all over again.
